Joel Farabee
Joel Farabee was a member of the South Kent Selects Academy’s USPHL 16U teams in 2014-15 and 2015-16. South Kent Selects Academy recently announced its membership in the Tier 1 Hockey Federation, the successor to the USPHL Midget Divisions. He helped the Selects win the 2015-16 USPHL 16U Championship, and he was MVP of the USPHL 16U that season, as well. He scored 94 points in 61 combined regular season and playoff games in the USPHL.
The next season, Farabee played with the U.S. National Team Development Program, and helped the U.S. Under-18 National Team win the World Junior U-18 Championship Gold Medal. He returned to the Under-18 National Team for a second season in 2017-18, when he captained Team USA.
He played for Boston University in 2018-19, and was named both the Hockey East and overall NCAA Rookie Of The Year, winning the Tim Taylor Award for the NCAA honor. He signed his first pro contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, who had drafted him in the first round (14th overall) in the NHL Entry Draft.
He started the 2019-20 season with the Flyers’ AHL affiliate the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, but was called up just four games in to play 52 games in his rookie NHL season. He would remain with the Flyers through the 2024-25 season, when he was traded to the Calgary Flames.
In 427 NHL regular season and playoff games, he has 212 points.
