NCDC January Stars of the Month
The National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) has named its January Stars of the Month, highlighting the top performers from throughout the month.
Atlantic Division
Forward: Oliver Morris – P.A.L. Jr. Islanders: Forward Oliver Morris put together an excellent month for the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders, finishing January with 8 goals and 7 assists for 15 points across 11 games. He opened the month with a strong stretch, including a four-point effort (1G, 3A) on Jan. 4 and a goal in a 3–0 win on Jan. 9. Morris added another big performance on Jan. 31, posting 2 goals and 3 assists in a 5–1 victory to close out the month. Morris recorded points in seven games and delivered three multi-point performances, consistently providing offensive spark and proving to be a key driver of the Islanders’ attack throughout January.
Defenseman: Harrison Kinne – West Chester Wolves: West Chester defenseman, Harrison Kinne, put together a steady and productive month, finishing January with 2 goals and 6 assists for 8 points in six games. He recorded points in four contests, highlighted by a three-assist performance on Jan. 31 and back-to-back multi-point efforts on Jan. 23 and Jan. 17. Kinne also contributed on special teams with a power-play goal and added a shorthanded tally earlier in the month. Despite several tight one-goal results for his team, Kinne consistently generated offense and remained one of their most reliable producers throughout January.
Goalie: Ethan Ramonetti – P.A.L. Jr. Islanders: P.A.L. Jr. Islanders goaltender Ethan Ramonetti put together a strong and consistent January between the pipes, finishing the month with a 7-2-0 record, supported by a .956 save percentage and 1.33 goals-against average across nine starts. He posted three shutouts during the month, including a 27-save clean sheet on Jan. 24 and a perfect 30-save outing on Jan. 22. Ramonetti allowed two goals or fewer in eight of his nine January appearances, highlighted by elite performances such as a 45-save win on Jan. 16 and a 33-save outing on Jan. 3.
Rookie: Arnaud Roberge – Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights: Arnaud Roberge made his NCDC debut on Jan. 9 and immediately delivered a strong month for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, finishing January with 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points in seven games. He scored in his debut and continued to build momentum throughout the month, highlighted by a two-goal performance on Jan. 31 in a 4–2 win. Roberge also added key assists in tight games on Jan. 23 and Jan. 30, showing poise and playmaking ability early in his junior career.
Mountain Division
Forward: Caleb Lepitre – Idaho Falls Spud Kings: Caleb Lepitre delivered a steady and productive month for the Spud Kings, finishing January with 4 goals and 8 assists for 12 points across 11 games. He recorded points in seven outings, highlighted by a strong start to the month with 2 goals and 1 assist on Jan. 2, and a multi-point effort in the month’s final game on Jan. 30. Lepitre added key secondary scoring throughout the middle stretch, posting assists in tight wins on Jan. 9, 10, 16, and 21.
Defenseman: Anderson Sandquist – Rock Springs Miners: Miners defender Anderson Sandquist delivered a strong two-way month from the blue line, recording 3 goals and 5 assists for 8 points across 11 January games. He opened the month with a 1G, 2A performance on Jan. 2 and added another multi-point effort on Jan. 16. Sandquist also contributed a key goal on Jan. 23 and logged steady minutes throughout a busy schedule.
Goalie: Viggo Boston – Grand Junction River Hawks: Grand Junction netminder Viggo Boston turned in one of the strongest goaltending performances of January, finishing the month with a 4-1 record, an elite .960 save percentage, and a 0.92 goals-against average across six appearances. Boston posted two shutouts, including a 22-save clean sheet on Jan. 31, and delivered another perfect outing when he came in relief on Jan. 23, stopping all 13 shots he faced. He allowed just five goals all month, highlighted by standout performances such as a 39-save win on Jan. 15 and a 32-save showing on Jan. 3. Boston’s consistency, poise, and efficiency made him one of January’s most reliable and dominant goaltenders.
Rookie: Zachary Palik – Utah Outliers: Utah Outliers rookie forward Zachary Palik turned in an impressive January, posting 8 goals and 3 assists for 11 points in 10 games. He broke out early with a hat trick on Jan. 9 and added another multi-goal game on Jan. 17, finishing the month with points in six contests. Palik consistently generated offense and emerged as one of his team’s most reliable scoring options throughout January.
New England Division
Forward: Kellen Matushak – Northern Maine Pioneers: Northern Maine Pioneers forward Kellen Matushak put together a highly productive January, finishing the month with 8 goals and 9 assists for 17 points across 12 games. He opened the month with points in back-to-back games and stayed consistent throughout, recording at least one point in nine outings, including four multi-point performances. His best stretch came mid-month, highlighted by a two-goal game on Jan. 24, a two-assist effort on Jan. 23, and another two-goal performance on Jan. 12.
Defenseman: Matthew McCarron – Northern Maine Pioneers: Northern Maine Pioneers defenseman Matthew McCarron delivered a highly productive January on the blue line, finishing the month with 3 goals and 9 assists for 12 points across 12 games. He opened the month with a big statement, posting 1 goal and 2 assists on Jan. 7, and later added multi-point efforts on Jan. 18 and Jan. 23. McCarron consistently generated offense from the back end, recording points in seven games while logging heavy minutes in all situations.
Goalie: Jack Foy – Utica Jr. Comets: Utica Jr. Comets goaltender Jack Foy delivered a dominant month in goal, finishing January with a perfect 6-0 record, supported by an elite .961 save percentage and a 1.16 goals-against average across six appearances. He allowed just seven total goals all month and closed January with three straight perfect outings, including shutouts on Jan. 30 and Feb. 1 and a flawless 21-save relief performance on Jan. 31. Foy was at his best in tight games, making 30 saves in a 3–2 win on Jan. 18 and turning aside 32 of 35 in a victory on Jan. 14. His consistency, composure, and ability to elevate in big moments made him one of the NCDC’s most impressive goaltenders throughout January.
Rookie: Colin Ward – Boston Jr. Bruins: Boston Jr. Bruins rookie forward Colin Ward produced a solid and impactful month for his team, finishing January with 5 goals and 2 assists for 7 points in six games. He opened the month with a two-assist effort on Jan. 8 and followed with goals in back-to-back games on Jan. 13 and Jan. 20. Ward added another multi-goal outing on Jan. 28 and closed the month with a power-play marker on Jan. 31. Ward recorded points in four of six games, including three multi-point performances, and consistently provided timely scoring throughout January.
