NCDC Playoff Update: Semifinals Continue Across New England Divisions

Playoff action continued Wednesday night across the NCDC’s New England divisions, with several teams advancing and others forcing decisive matchups.

New England Central Division

The Utica Jr. Comets completed the sweep of the Boston Junior Bruins, closing the series with a 4-3 double-overtime victory on Wednesday. Kevin Walton netted the game-winner in 2OT as Utica finished off a 3-0 series win and advanced to the next round.

The Worcester Railers JHC also moved on with a 3-0 sweep of the Boston Jr. Rangers, winning each game by multiple goals before sealing the series with a 4-3 overtime victory.

New England East Division

The South Shore Kings continued their strong postseason run, finishing off a 3-0 series sweep of the Thunder Hockey Club with a 4-1 win on Wednesday. Felix-Antoine Laflamme scored twice in the victory, while South Shore outshot Thunder 57-19.

The Northern Cyclones evened their series with the Islanders Hockey Club in dominant fashion, earning a 4-0 shutout win in Game 4. Cooper Caby opened the scoring, and the Cyclones carried control throughout. The series is now tied 2-2, with a decisive Game 5 set for March 28.

New England North Division

The Lewiston MAINEiacs swept their series over the CT Chiefs North with a 4-2 win on Wednesday. Lewiston will move on to face the Woodstock Slammer.

The Woodstock NB Slammers completed their sweep of Universel Quebec with a 3-2 overtime win. Yan Krasavin scored the overtime winner to secure the 3-0 series victory for Woodstock.

Atlantic Division

The Atlantic Division postseason begins with the Play-In (Best-of-3) series between the Mercer Chiefs and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, set to open March 26.
