NCDC Stars of the Week | Dec. 29 – Jan. 4, 2026
The National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) has announced its Division Stars of the Week, recognizing standout performances from December 29th to January 4th, 2026. Only players nominated by their teams were eligible for consideration.
ATLANTIC DIVISION
Forward: Tomas Smetanka – P.A.L. Jr. Islanders: Over two games, P.A.L. Jr. Islanders forward Tomas Smetanka tallied 6 points. In back-to-back wins against West Chester, the Czechia born forward added 3 goals and 3 assists. On Saturday, Smetanka added 2 goals and 1 assist, followed by a 1 goal and 2 assist game on Sunday.
Defenseman: Tristan Caldwell – Jersey Hitmen: Hitmen defenseman Tristan Caldwell tallied up 3 points over 2 games. Caldwell started the weekend off hot with a goal and an assist in an 11-2 win. He added another assist on Saturday’s final.
Goalie: Ethan Ramonetti – P.A.L. Jr. Islanders: P.A.L. Jr. Islanders netminder Ethan Ramoneti picked up back-to-back wins. Ramonnetti only allowed 2 goals over two games, stopping 56 shots. His performance was good for a .966 SV% and a
Rookie: Artur Ovsepain – P.A.L. Jr. Islanders: Rookie forward Artur Ovsepain tallied 5 points in 2 games. On Saturday, Artur added 2 goals in a 8-1 win, then posted 3 points (2g, 1a) on Sunday’s 7-1 win.
MOUNTAIN DIVISION
Forward: Sam Grimaldi – Idaho Falls Spud Kings: Spud Kings forward Sam Grimaldi totalled 4 points over 4 games played. Grimaldi netted 2 goals and dished out 2 assists, highlighted by a 2 point (1g, 1a) game on December 30th.
Defenseman: Anderson Sandquist – Rock Springs Miners: Minders defenseman Anderson Sanquist tallied 3 points over 3 games. Sandquist kickstarted the new year with a 3 point game (1g, 2a).
Goalie: Devin Degenstein – Idaho Falls Spud Kings: Spud Kings goalie Devin Degenstein put together an excellent week in net, going 2-1 with a .925 save percentage and a 25-save shutout. He added another win by stopping 25 of 28 shots and capped the stretch with a hard-fought shootout decision, showing consistency and composure in every outing.
Rookie: Micah Adams – Rock Springs Miners: Miners goalie Micah Adams turned in a strong week between the pipes, posting a 2-1 record with a .927 save percentage. He earned two wins while making 67 saves in those victories, including a 41-save performance, showcasing his ability to handle heavy workloads and come up big when needed.
