New England Wolves To Host Annual JBT Shootout Benefit Game On January 17
The New England Wolves will once again unite their hockey community for a greater purpose on January 17, when they host their annual JBT Shootout event at Merrill Fay Arena — a night dedicated to raising funds and awareness for childhood cancer research through The Cure Starts Now Foundation.
Now one of the most anticipated dates on the Wolves’ calendar, the JBT Shootout has become a powerful local tradition. Over the years, the Wolves and their surrounding community have helped raise more than $300,000 toward the fight against pediatric cancer. Fans pack the rink, families come together, and the Wolves proudly use their platform to support a mission far bigger than the game itself.
This year’s event is already off to a strong start. Nearly $15,000 has been raised with a full month to go, and supporters across New Hampshire and beyond continue to donate through individual fundraising pages and the event hub:

Participants in the Shootout will arrive early for a night that blends competition, community, and purpose. Each competitor receives a special JBT hoodie, enjoys full access to a dedicated locker room for the evening, and competes for prizes including Top Fundraiser honors and the coveted JBT Shootout Trophy.
The Wolves expect another large, energized crowd on Jan. 17, as it is a perfect opportunity for families to take part in something meaningful and memorable. All donations for the JBT Shootout are made directly through the official website, ensuring every dollar goes straight to The Cure Starts Now Foundation.
While final confirmation of the Wolves’ opponent for the Jan. 17 date is still being arranged, the organization and league are already moving ahead with promotion to ensure maximum visibility for this impactful event.
“It’s a fantastic night for our players, our fans and, most importantly, for the kids and families fighting childhood cancer,” said Wolves’ Andrew Trimble. “Our community shows up in an incredible way every year, and we’re proud to continue supporting this cause.”
Fans can follow all fundraising progress, learn more about the event, and support individual participants at the official JBT Shootout page.
