Premier SOTW

The United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) Premier has announced its Division Stars of the Week, recognizing standout performances from October 6-12, 2025. Only players nominated by their teams were eligible for consideration.

Alberta Division

Forward: Maksym Onatskyi – Calgary Bandits: Maksym Onatskyi powered the Calgary Bandits’ offense with a huge weekend, racking up 3 goals and 6 assists for 9 points over three games. The forward opened the series with a four-point performance, added three more points the next night, and capped it off with three assists in a 6–2 win.

Defenseman: Kaden Devlin – Diamond Valley Rockies: Diamond Valley Rockies defender Kaden Devlin posted a goal and 3 assists for four points over two games. The High River, Alberta native added a +6 rating over those games as well. 

Goaltender: Ryan Myers – Diamond Valley Rockies: Diamond Valley Rockies goaltender Ryan Myers made 27 saves over two games and recorded a .926 SV% and a 2.00 GAA.  

 

Atlantic Division

Forward: Michael Reed – Red Banks Generals: Michael Reed had an outstanding stretch for the Red Bank Generals, piling up 8 goals and 3 assists for 11 points over five games. His week included a hat trick and two assists in a 9–0 win, plus multi-goal efforts in back-to-back games.

Defenseman: Tom O’Connell – Red Banks Generals: Tom O’Connell was a major contributor on the back end for the Red Bank Generals, recording 1 goal and 8 assists for 9 points in five games. The blueliner posted three multi-point outings, including a three-assist performance in a 12–1 win, while maintaining strong defensive play.

Goaltender: Ryan Kalina – Red Banks Generals: Ryan Kalina was unbeatable in the crease, going 2–0 with back-to-back shutouts for the Red Bank Generals. He stopped all 35 shots he faced across the two starts, blanking opponents 2–0 and 7–0.

 

Florida Division

Forward: Derek Hudson – Coral Springs Cats: Derek Hudson led the way offensively for the Coral Springs Cats, putting up 2 goals and 5 assists for 7 points over four games. He had a four-point outing (1G, 3A) in a 5–1 win and followed it up with two assists in a 6–1 victory. 

Defenseman: Oliver Melnychuk – Florida Eels: Oliver Melnychuk was a steady presence on the back end for the Florida Eels, contributing 3 assists over five games, including a two-assist performance in a 6–4 battle against Carolina. 

Goaltender: Logan D’Andrea – Coral Springs Cats: Logan D’Andrea was sharp in his lone start of the week, stopping 29 of 30 shots for a .967 save percentage in a 6–1 victory. 

 

Great Lakes Division

Forward: Luka Pivec – Metro Jets: Luka Pivec put up a monster weekend for the Metro Jets, totaling 2 goals and 8 assists for 10 points in two games. He opened with a four-point night (2G, 2A) and followed it up with an incredible four-assist performance in an 8–0 win.

Defenseman: Jake Taylor – Metro Jets: Jake Taylor was a key contributor on both sides of the puck, posting 6 assists and 1 goal for 7 points in two games. The defenseman had back-to-back three-point performances, including a goal and two assists in an 8–0 win. 

Goaltender: Carson Balow – Cincinnati Jr. Cyclones: Carson Balow faced a heavy workload but stood tall in net, stopping 96 of 102 shots over two games for a .941 save percentage. The netminder made 62 saves on 66 shots in a 5–3 loss and added 34 saves in another strong outing. Despite the results, Balow’s performance kept Cincinnati competitive and showcased his resilience and focus under pressure.

 

Midwest Division

Forward: Lucas Benavides – MJDP: Lucas Benavides fueled the MJDP offense with 3 goals and 1 assist for 4 points in two games. He scored once in a 5–3 loss, then followed it up with a two-goal, three-point performance in a 5–3 win.

Defenseman: Paulius Uzusienis – MJDP: Paulius Uzusienis contributed offensively from the blue line with a goal and an assist over two games. The defenseman found the back of the net in a 5–3 loss and added an assist in a 5–3 win, helping MJDP generate steady production from the back end.

Goaltender: Sumner Wood – Fort Wayne Spacemen: Sumner Wood backstopped the Fort Wayne Spacemen to a 5–3 win, turning aside 34 of 37 shots for a .919 save percentage. His steady play helped secure the victory. 

 

New England Division

Forward: Jacob Bruno – Utica Jr. Comets: Jacob Bruno helped drive the offense for the Utica Jr. Comets, recording 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 points over three games. He had multi-point outings in two of the three contests, including a goal and an assist in a 4–1 win. 

Defenseman: Gregory Timmons – Utica Jr. Comets: Gregory Timmons was a steady two-way force for the Utica Jr. Comets, recording 1 goal and 4 assists for 5 points over three games. The defenseman notched back-to-back two-assist performances, helping to spark Utica’s transition game and contribute to a dominant three-win week.

Goaltender: Jacob Korte – Utica Jr. Comets: Jacob Korte was sharp between the pipes for the Utica Jr. Comets, going 2–0 on the week while posting a 0.50 GAA and a .974 save percentage. He stopped 40 of 41 shots, including a 21-save shutout in a 2–0 victory, anchoring Utica’s strong defensive effort in back-to-back wins.

 

North Division

Forward: Grant O’Connor – Minnesota Squatch: Grant O’Connor powered the Minnesota Squatch offense with 4 goals and 1 assist for 5 points over two games. He scored twice in each contest, including a power-play goal and a shorthanded marker, helping the Squatch to a perfect 2–0 weekend.

Defenseman: Jackson Heusinkveld – Minnesota Squatch: Jackson Heusinkveld contributed on both ends of the ice, scoring 1 goal in each of the Squatch’s two wins over the weekend. His steady play on the blue line and ability to join the rush helped Minnesota outscore opponents 15–1 across the two contests.

Goaltender: Deaken Shaw – Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings: Deaken Shaw stood tall in net for the Riverkings, earning two wins on the weekend while posting a 0.50 GAA and a .976 save percentage. He stopped 44 of 45 shots, including a 24-save shutout in a 2–0 victory, helping Wisconsin Rapids to a pair of key divisional wins.

 

Northwest Division

Forward: Zach Baumann – Vernal Oilers: Zach Baumann continued his strong play for the Vernal Oilers, racking up 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points in two games. He recorded a multi-point effort in both contests, including a two-goal, four-point night in a 9–2 win, helping fuel Vernal’s dominant offensive weekend.

Defenseman: Daniel Radkevich – Seattle Totems: Daniel Radkevich was a force on both sides of the puck for Seattle, tallying 3 goals and 1 assist over two road wins. His offensive touch from the blue line helped power the Totems’ sweep, while his steady defensive play anchored a unit that allowed just four goals all weekend.

Goaltender: Matej Hronsky – Seattle Totem: Matej Hronsky backstopped Seattle to a perfect 3-0 weekend, turning aside 86 of 93 shots for a .925 save percentage and 2.33 goals-against average. His steady presence in net helped the Totems complete a dominant sweep on the road. Hronsky is undefeated this season with a 6-0 record. 

 

Pacific Division

Forward: Marc Belanger – Ontario Jr. Reign: Marc Belanger exploded offensively for the Jr. Reign, posting 4 goals and 11 points in three games. His highlight was a six-point outing (3G, 3A) in a 10–1 win, helping Ontario sweep the weekend. 

Defenseman: Alex Plunz – Ontario Jr. Reign: Alex Plunz was steady on the back end during Ontario’s dominant weekend, contributing three assists over three games. 

Goaltender: Makai Collins – Ontario Jr. Reign: Makai Collins turned in a stellar performance, recording a 37-save shutout in a 6–0 win. He was perfect between the pipes, stopping every shot he faced to secure Ontario’s third straight victory of the weekend.

 

St. Lawrence Division

Forward: Nicolas Barnes – Universel College Sherbrooke: Nicolas Barnes had a breakout performance, scoring four goals and two assists for six points in an 8–5 victory.

Defenseman: Zakary Corriveau – Hawkesbury Knights: Zakary Corriveau anchored the blue line for Hawkesbury, picking up three points (1g, 2a) over four games. His two-assist performance in a 4–1 win highlighted a strong defensive weekend.

Goaltender: Anthony Gervais – Hawkesbury Knights: Anthony Gervais backstopped Hawkesbury to a perfect 2–0 weekend, turning aside 63 of 66 shots for a .956 save percentage. He was outstanding with a 23 save 3-2 OT win, and followed up with another strong showing stopping 40 shots in a 2-1 victory. 

 

Southeast Division

Forward: Nikita Zozulia – Hampton Roads Whalers: Nikita Zozulia powered the Whalers’ offense with 7 goals and 1 assist for 8 points over four games. He scored in every contest, including a hat trick in a 4–1 win, helping Hampton Roads go a perfect 4–0 on the weekend.

Defenseman: Trevor Riggs – Potomac Patriots: Trevor Riggs played a key two-way role for Potomac, tallying four assists over four wins. His steady defensive presence and smart puck distribution helped the Patriots post an undefeated weekend.

Goaltender: Felix Tolke – Hampton Roads Whalers: Felix Tolke was dominant in the crease, earning three wins, including two shutouts, while stopping 58 of 59 shots for a .983 save percentage. His stellar play backstopped the Whalers to a perfect weekend.
