2024–25 Postseason: Did not qualify

The Boston Dogs return to the ice this fall looking to take a big step forward in their second NCDC campaign. Based out of the Canton Ice House and competing in the highly competitive New England East Division, the Dogs enter the 2025–26 season ready and eager for competition in the New England East Division.

In 2024–25, the Dogs finished with a 10-19-0-2 record (22 points) and missed the postseason. While the results didn’t always go their way, the foundation was set for a program built on development, work ethic, and resilience. Now, the focus shifts to turning those early lessons into consistency on the scoreboard.

Head Coach and General Manager Cody Gonyeau believes the team’s identity is already starting to take shape.

“Right now, we have what looks to be a very hard-working team,” Gonyeau said. “I’ve been impressed with the effort through our first few days at camp. We constantly talk about the word compete, and what that means for us each day. That’s the identity we want to be known for to start the season. I want people who watch this team to think that we are hard to play against and play a very competitive style of hockey.”

For Gonyeau, improvement goes beyond systems and lineups—it starts with intangibles.

“Culture and leadership. I believe we have had strong culture and leadership in our program, but I feel these are key areas that we can always improve on,” Gonyeau said. “During the first week, we have focused on how we want our culture to be and how our team can show certain characteristics together to help reach our goals and objectives.”

On the ice, the Dogs are expected to be more versatile this season. Gonyeau is confident in the group’s ability to adapt and rise to the challenges of their demanding division.

“Looking at the guys we have right now, we have a mixture of size, speed, and talent. I think we will really be able to incorporate many different playing styles based on the opponents we face and what we need to do to compete against them,” Gonyeau said. “Overall, I’m pushing this team to really show high energy, positive spirit, resilience, and confidence. We have a really good group of guys right now that all seem to want to work towards the same goal. We’ve seen a lot of these personalities within the first few days of our report date. I’m really excited to see that continue and grow for the Boston Dogs this season.”

The New England East remains one of the toughest divisions in the NCDC, but the Dogs are determined to prove they belong in the conversation. With their first year behind them and a stronger roster, fans in Canton can expect an exciting Boston Dogs squad ready to make noise in 2025–26.
