The 2025-26 season marks the beginning of a brand-new era of junior hockey in Wyoming, as the Rock Springs Miners officially join the NCDC ranks. For the coaching staff and players alike, this first season is about more than just hockey—it’s about building a culture and identity that can carry the Miners into the future.
“Our team’s identity is built on hard work and focusing on the things we can control,” said Head Coach Anthony Carlier. “With this year’s group, the priority is not only to lay the foundation for future success but also to establish a culture that makes Rock Springs the place to be for anyone who wants to pursue college hockey.”
That foundation starts in training camp. The Miners are emphasizing good habits and discipline from day one, with the belief that consistency and accountability will define their season. The message is clear: if the players commit to the details, success will follow.
Fans in Rock Springs can expect an exciting brand of hockey from their new team. The Miners are determined to play fast, hard, and physical—mirroring the grit and determination of the town itself.
“For our fans, they’re going to see an entirely new team—one that plays with energy, toughness, and pride,” the Carlier added. “Rock Springs is built on kind, hardworking people who know what it takes to succeed, and we want our team to embody those same qualities while giving this community something to be proud of.”
With the puck about to drop on their inaugural campaign, the Miners are eager to get started.
“I could not be any more excited to kick the year off with this group of players,” said Carlier. “Our staff has worked hard all summer, and it’s time to build something special in Rock Springs. These players deserve it, and so does our amazing town. A new era of Rock Springs hockey is here!”
