Playing in a tough Atlantic Division, the Rockets Hockey Club are ready to rise to the challenge and compete with a new season approaching.
Head coach Matt Morrow is excited to get the season underway and to work with the dedicated players who chose to be part of this program.
“This is always an exciting time of year,” said Morrow. “Throughout our recruiting cycle we diligently identify talented players who choose the Rockets because they know that success here opens new opportunities for the future. The fun part is seeing those individuals come together to execute a well-rehearsed game plan. The finished product is pretty cool to watch.”
With his team being a bit on the younger side, coach Morrow is emphasizing the importance of working together and playing with intention in order for them to be successful.
“With the young roster we typically have we emphasize the importance of being organized, detail-oriented and having professional habits,” said Morrow. “With most of our players new to junior hockey, they are eager to learn and grow as players and people. Having intention with everything we do is integral to achieving our team objectives.
Morrow aims to let each individual player shine in their own way, while cultivating a positive environment and emphasizing a fast, high-tempo style of play.
“We work cooperatively with our players to find a good balance of team structure while allowing latitude for what makes each individual player so great,” said Morrow. “Playing fast and with instinct is the goal, and our game plan is there to facilitate that for our players. Guys who can trust each other will play hard for each other. That’s the environment we cultivate at the Rockets.”
The Rockets will look to bring high energy and a competitive edge as they battle through the challenges of the Atlantic Division all season long.
