Year in and year out, the South Shore Kings prove they’re the team to beat, and this season should be no different.

Winners of the 2024 Dineen Cup and runners-up a season ago, the Kings continue to dominate opponents. The Kings program consistently puts top-notch players on the ice, showcasing elite talent year after year.

With a strong nucleus of players returning from last season’s outstanding run, head coach and GM Tyler Holske expects big things out of his team this season.

“We have a good core group of returning players,” said Holske. “The meaningful games they played down the stretch last season should help them early on. I expect these players to take a step this upcoming season. I also expect this core group to help the new players early on. Looking at our group, we are built from the net out. We have depth at the goaltending position. Our defensive core is mobile and athletic. I have been very impressed with the depth at the center position to this point in camp.”

Holske is emphasizing team culture and identity early on, knowing that every new season brings its own set of challenges. He is also big on the team bonding aspect, which brings the team closer together which then translates on the ice.

“It’s a new season,” said Holske. “We have a lot of new players that we are excited about as a staff. Early on it’s all about building your team culture, identity and how we want to play as a group. We have a lot to cover in a short period of time. I think it’s important for the players early on to take everything in, be coachable and just focus on getting better each day. Next week we have a few team building activities planned along with two exhibition games.”

Fans can expect another exciting season in Foxboro as the Kings bring their fast-paced, competitive style of play to the ice once again.

“For the fans and people that support the South Shore Kings, they will certainly see a team that is sound defensively, fast in transition and creative offensively,” said Holske. “We want to spend as much time as possible with the puck. In order to do that, it’s important that we are playing together as a five-man unit in all three zones.”

With a new season on the horizon, the Kings are more determined than ever to capture the Dineen Cup after coming up just short last year.
