South Shore Kings Showcase Day 2 Recaps
JERSEY HITMEN 3, WORCESTER RAILERS JR. HOCKEY CLUB 1
With the game tied 1-1 into the third period, the Hitmen struck for two goals by David Ambuhl and Ian Kuisis’ second of the game to seal the 3-1 win. Ivan Milodidov scored for the Railers.
NEW YORK DYNAMO 4, WOODSTOCK NB SLAMMERS 2
The NY Dynamo doubled up the Slammers 4-2 behind goals by Thomas Pisaro, Noah Thomsen, Timothy Russell and Paul Schilcher.
SOUTH SHORE KINGS 3, MERCER CHIEFS 2
A two-goal game from Alec Babineau was the difference in the Kings 3-2 win over the Chiefs. Eli Heinze also contributed a goal.
CT CHIEFS NORTH 8 , UNIVERSEL ACADEMY 4
Two goals a piece from Platon Semenov and Alexander Kharinov propelled the Chiefs to a solid 8-4 win over Universel Academy.
UNIVERSEL QUEBEC 3, BOSTON DOGS 1
Yanik Felesakis, James Ghebbari and Alexis Roy each found the back of the net in Universel Quebec’s 3-1 win. Carlo Giordani had 37 saves between the pipes.
P.A.L JR. ISLANDERS 6, ISLANDERS HOCKEY CLUB 3
Six different goal-scorers helped the P.A.L Islanders double up the Islanders HC 6-3. Aidan Holland, Chase Carkner, Ivan Zelenov, Hayden Vonk, Nico Bromley and Algirdas Jaras each lit the lamp.
BOSTON JR. RANGERS 6, ST. STEPHEN COUNTY MOOSE 1
A hat trick from Jack O’Connor drove the Boston Jr. Rangers to a 6-1 win over St. Stephen County Moose. Nicholas Kondub, Zach Baker and Christof Tschurnig also found the scoresheet.
SPRINGFIELD PICS 5, WILKES-BARRE SCRANTON KNIGHTS 3
A four-goal third period helped the Pics take down the Knights 5-3. Justin Hopper led the charge with a pair of goals. Jonah Winsor, Mario Bernard and Adam Palenik also scored one goal a piece.
Non-Showcase NCDC Games
Lewiston MAINEiacs 6, New England Wolves 3
At The Colisee, the MAINEiacs used a huge second period to pull away for a 6-3 win over the Wolves. After a 2-2 first period, Lewiston erupted for three goals in the middle frame, including a natural hat trick from Gabriel Braun, who scored three times in the second. Jan-Felix Faupel added a third-period goal to seal it. New England got goals from Vincent Cregheur, Jonathan MacIntosh and Flavio Commusset in the loss.
Ogden Mustangs 4, Rock Springs Miners 0
At Weber County Sports Complex, the Mustangs broke open a scoreless game with three second-period goals and never looked back in a 4-0 shutout win. Hudson Weber-Stewart started the scoring, followed by goals from Billie Jacobson-Couch and Jackson Walsh later in the frame. Ryan Flaherty added a third-period marker. Ogden outshot Rock Springs 45-23 in the dominant victory. Ogden goalie Frank Cambia backstopped 23 shots in the shutout victory.
Utah Outliers 4, Grand Junction River Hawks 2
At River City Sportplex, Utah used a strong third period to secure a 4-2 win. Tyler Gudjonson scored twice, including a third-period insurance goal, while Zachary Palik and Anton Sollin also found the back of the net. Sami Kallionkieli and Bradley Boniface scored for Grand Junction, but Utah pulled away late.
Idaho Falls Spud Kings 3, Casper Warbirds 1
At Casper Ice Arena, the Spud Kings struck three times in the second period and rode that surge to a 3-1 victory. Blaine Krahn, Kane Kennedy and Caleb Lepitre all scored during the middle frame. Jack Rytel netted Casper’s lone goal in the third, but Idaho Falls held on to close out the road win.
