Forward Marcus Bellomo, a two-year veteran of the Seacoast Spartans, was excited to announce his NCAA Division III commitment to Vermont State-Castleton this spring for the 2025-26 season.
After a great 2023-24 season with the Spartans in their previous league, putting up 22 points in 45 games, the Salem, N.H., native, returned to the Spartans this year after their jump to the NCDC and had a productive year. In 57 games played, Bellomo tallied 33 points (14 goals, 19 assists) and was chosen as a New England All-Star back in January.
“Seacoast is a great place to develop,” said Bellomo. “Everyone in the building wants you to get better and move on to the next level. “I signed with Seacoast because I had played for their team the year before and had a great experience with the coaching staff.”
Bellomo started talking with the Castleton coaching staff after the Jersey Hitmen showcase back in October.
“The coaches at Castleton really liked my motor on the ice and ability to make plays,” said Bellomo.
The location of Castleton caught Bellomo’s eye and he knew it was the perfect place to help him develop as a player and a person.
“Castleton drew my attention with their beautiful facilities and location as well as majors that will help me succeed in my career after college,” said Bellomo. “When I visited Castleton it felt like home. It is a beautiful campus surrounded by mountains with plenty of things to offer off-campus as well.”
Bellomo was grateful for his time spent in the Spartans organization, but is looking forward to getting to Castleton this fall and will be working hard in the off-season.
“I look to develop my speed to adjust to the level of college hockey and spend a lot of time in the gym to adjust to playing with older players,” said Bellomo.
The NCDC congratulates Marcus Bellomo, his family, the Seacoast Spartans and Vermont State-Castleton for his commitment.
