Forwards
Samuel Ciappa, Mercer Chiefs
An NCDC All-Star selection, Ciappa (‘05/Baldwinsville, N.Y.) registered six goals and added nine assists for a 15-point month of February. Ciappa has 57 points in 48 games, and ranks seventh in league scoring as well.
Ryan Stratton, Mercer Chiefs
Stratton (‘05/Syracuse, N.Y.) fired in seven goals and added seven assists for 14 points in nine games, good for an average of 1.56 points per game. Stratton, who joined the Chiefs in November from the NAHL, has 25 points in 25 games this season.
Jared Rothman, Rockets Hockey Club
Rothman (‘06/Chappaqua, N.Y.) has been red-hot pretty much all season and showed he has no intention of slowing down with a six-goal, eight-assist month of February. The NCDC All-Star’s 14 points in nine games equated to a 1.56 points per game average.
Forward Honorable Mention: Aiden Ryan, Jersey Hitmen
Defense
Jake Stevens, Mercer Chiefs
Another NCDC All-Star selection, Stevens (‘05/Newton, N.J.) was a powerful force for the Chiefs throughout February, scoring two goals and adding nine assists for 11 points. With 46 points in 42 games, he is the leading scorer among NCDC defensemen.
Brayden Sprickman, West Chester Wolves
The parade of NCDC All-Star selections continues, as Sprickman (‘05/Erie, Pa.) registered one goal and added eight assists for nine point in nine February games. With 36 points in 46 games, he is tied for sixth overall.
Defense Honorable Mention: Wilson Farrow, Jersey Hitmen
Goaltender
Jakub Kral, Connecticut Jr. Rangers
Kral (‘04/Czechia) caused a lot of headaches around the league, winning five games for a 5-2-0-0 record last month. In a busy 423 minutes of action, he stopped 243 of 256 shots for a .949 save percentage. He also had a 1.84 GAA for the month. Among NCDC goaltenders, his .938 season save percentage is tied for second.
Goaltender Honorable Mention: Cole Werthman, Mercer Chiefs
Selection Process: The division’s coaches are presented with a ballot form with statistical leaders (ranked by points per game average for skaters and save percentage for goaltenders) and vote on that form. The league takes the results of that vote and presents the coaches with the finalists, who are able to vote on further changes if desired.
