Boston Dogs goaltender Aries Carangi is excited to announce his NCAA Division III commitment to Salem State University for the 2026-27 season.

Carangi, a native of Philadelphia, PA previously played in the NAHL before coming over to the NCDC. He has made nine starts for the Dogs this season and has thoroughly enjoyed his time spent with the team.
“I have enjoyed my time in the NCDC,” said Carangi. “The location of not only my team, but the majority of the league, being close to so many collegiate programs has been a huge help in the recruiting process. Being able to have coaches come to games is very advantageous to players and organizations.”
Right after Christmas break, Carangi started talking with the Salem State goalie coach and had a great conversation with him. He then had a productive visit with head coach Chris MacInnis and things took off from there. He talked about what the coaches liked about his game.
“The staff liked my ability to compete, my size and potential, as well as being a good culture fit for the team,” stated Carangi.
Carangi is excited about the school. It has checked all his boxes academically and athletically, and can’t wait to explore the business school.
“I love the facilities and the whole athletics building,” said Carangi. “I’m very excited to spend the next four years working there. I’m also very excited for the business school. I like how the school is close to the city, yet has its own town.”
Before he heads to Salem State, he is focused on helping his team finish the season strong and leave it all on the ice.
“I hope to help the team accomplish a playoff berth for our first full season in the league,” said Carangi.
The NCDC congratulates Aries Carangi, his family, the Boston Dogs and Salem State for his commitment.
