NCDC Commitment Profile: Mercer’s Beswick commits to Manhattanville University
Mercer Chiefs forward Brent Beswick is thrilled to announce his NCAA Division III commitment to Manhattanville University for the 2026-27 season.
Brent Beswick, who hails from Wyckoff, NJ, is in his first season with the Chiefs and he has enjoyed every minute of playing for coach Rob Broderick. In 36 games so far, Beswick has 35 points (11G, 24A) and has been a key piece of their success this season.
“I love playing for Mercer,” said Beswick. “Coach Broderick and Coach Gerbasi have been great to me all year. What I admire most about them is how much they care about my teammates and I as people. On top of that, they are great coaches and make you motivated to want to win for them. I decided to sign with Mercer because I have had a strong relationship with coach Broderick for many years. I always admired how he stayed in touch with me and was always complimentary of my game. The opportunity to play for him and log key minutes made it the right decision for me.”
Beswick met the coaching staff from Manhattanville at the Hitmen Showcase at the beginning of this season.
“The coaches liked my offensive abilities and overall 200-foot game, which they think I can make an immediate impact next year on the team,” said Beswick.
There were many components that went into Beswick choosing to play at Manhattanville. He loved the finance program, which he plans on studying. He made great connections with the coaching staff and players when he visited and he can live at home with his family while attending school there.
“The school has a good business and finance program, which I intend to pursue in the future like my dad,” said Beswick. “I really like coach Turco and coach McDermott and I’m excited to play for them. The guys on the team were very welcoming when I met them on the tour as well. They play in a strong division which I like, as it is my goal to go there next year and be a top player in the country and help the program be a top team. Another big plus for me was the ability to live at home and be with family, which is a huge priority for me while also being able to play the game I love at the collegiate level.”
Beswick wants to continue to get bigger and stronger as a player and finish out this season with the Chiefs.
“I hope to accomplish a championship with Mercer,” said Beswick. “I love everything about the team and I believe we have the team to make a really good run.”
The NCDC congratulates Brent Beswick, his family, the Mercer Chiefs and Manhattanville University for his commitment.
