NCDC Stars of the Week | Sept. 29 – Oct. 5, 2025

The National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) has announced its Division Stars of the Week, recognizing standout performances from September 29th – October 5th, 2025.Only players nominated by their teams were eligible for consideration.

 

Atlantic Division

Forward: Brent Beswick – Mercer Chiefs

Mercer forward Brent Beswick (06) was sensational in the two games he played in over the week. The Wyckoff, NJ native accounted for 5 points which included a 4 point night with a goal and 3 assists, followed by a 1 assist game. Beswick has played in 7 games this season and has totalled 11 points. 

Defenseman: Jack Spiess – Mercer Chiefs

Mercer defenseman Jack Spiess (07) added a helper in the Chiefs 4-1 victory on Saturday. The Oakton, VA native added the assist in the final goal of the win over the Connecticut Jr. Rangers. This season Spiess has played in 6 games and has recorded 3 assists. 

Goaltender: Nick Bunch – Jersey Hitmen

Hitmen netminder Nick Bunch (05) was lights out in a shutout win on Thursday. A native of Michigan, Bunch turned away 36 shots on net in a 3-0 Hitmen win. Bunch has gotten the start 4 times this season, where he holds a 2-1 record, 1.96 GAA and a .944 SV%. 

Rookie: Alessandro Capano – Rockets Hockey Club 

Rockets newcomer Alessandro Capano (05) was fantastic in net for the Rockets as he picked up his second NCDC win. The Englewood Cliffs, NJ native backstopped 41 shots on net for a .976 SV% in an overtime win over Wilkes-Barre Scranton, 2-1. 

 

Mountain Division

Forward: Ben Taylor – Pueblo Bulls

Bulls forward Ben Taylor (05) was fantastic for his squad after totalling six points over two games. Taylor, a native of Austin, TX, started the weekend off with a 2 goal and 2 assist game. The following night, Ben netted two goals. In his first NCDC season, Taylor has played in 5 games and has recorded 7 points (4 goals, 3 assists). 

Defenseman: Marcus Jackson – Pueblo Bulls

Pueblo blue-liner Marcus Jackson (06) made a huge impact for the Bulls over a two game set against the Rock Springs Miners. The Lakeville, MN native added a goal and two assists in the weekend opening. He then followed up adding an assist on Saturday’s game. Jackson is in his second season with the Bulls, where this year he has played in 5 games and has 5 points. 

Goaltender: Hayden Demaso – Pueblo Bulls

Bulls goaltender Hayden Demaso (08) picked up his career first shutout win on Saturday. The Kalamazoo, MI native posted a 21 shot shutout victory in a 3-0 final against Rock Springs. The 17-year-old has a 2-0 record in his NCDC rookie season with a 1.80 GAA and a .949 SV%. 

Rookie: Joey Cullison – Ogden Mustangs

Odgen Rookie forward Joey Cullison (06) added to his career points total with 3 points over two games. The Wisconsin native added a huge goal for the Mustangs in a 2-1 win over Grand Junction. In the following night’s contest, Cullison dished out two assists in the Mustangs 5-3 win. Cullison has appeared in 5 games this season. 

 

New England Division

Forward: Adam Botlo – Springfield Pics

Springfield forward Adam Botlo (07) was outstanding for the Pics as he totalled 6 points in one game. The native of Slovakia added 5 goals and 1 assist in the Pics 8-6 win over the Jr. Bruins. Botlo has played in 7 games this season and has totalled 10 points (6 goals, 4 assists).

Defenseman: Drew Jensen – South Shore Kings

South Shore defenseman Drew Jensen (06) added 4 points over two games to help in the Kings sweep over Universel College Quebec. Jensen started the week off adding 3 assists in an 8-1 win. On Friday night, the Syracuse, NY native netted a power-play goal where the Kings won 6-3. This season, Jensen has played in 8 games where he has combined for 6 points (1 goal, 5 assists). 

Goaltender: Nikolas Barnes – Boston Dogs

Dogs netminder Nikolas Barnes (05) was fantastic on Saturday picking up his first shutout win of the season. The Newport, NI native turned away 35 shots in the 2-0 shutout win. Barnes has played in 3 games this season with a 2-1 record, 2.68 GAA and a .925 SV%. 

Rookie: Matt Lemay – South Shore Kings

Rookie forward Matt Lemay (05) had a standout performance for the South Shore Kings where he combined for 5 points over two games. The Levis, Quebec native added 4 assists on Thursday night to help the Kings in their 8-1 win. On Friday, Lemay added another helper where the Kings won again, 6-3. Lemay has played in 9 games this season and has scored 2 goals and added 10 assists.
