The National Collegiate Development Conference congratulates the Rockets Hockey Club’s Jared Rothman for being named the Atlantic Division Most Valuable Player and Forward Of The Year for the 2024-25 season, as voted by the division’s coaches.
“It’s an incredible honor to be thought of in such high regard by my division’s coaches. Every game was a battle and for them to choose me for these awards fills me with a ton of pride,” said Rothman, a 2006-born native of Chappaqua, N.Y.
Rothman led the Atlantic Division in scoring and was second overall in points in the NCDC with 69 points. He was also second in goals in the NCDC, with 34, a number that tied him for sixth all time for a single NCDC season.
“I think that my ability to come up big during close games allowed my team to pull out wins in some tight spots. And I believe that the pace at which myself and my linemates played created problems for opposing teams,” added Rothman.
Rothman joined the Rockets this year out of the Salisbury School and the Avon Regals AAA program, and felt like he began developing into a better player from Day 1.
“Coach Matt Morrow, Coach Rem Vanderbeek, and Coach Alec Marsh were great in developing me as a player this year. From advancing my individual skills to allowing me to flourish in the team’s systems, I couldn’t have asked for a better spot to play in,” said Rothman. “Also, shout out to our off-ice performance trainer Ryan Anderson for keeping us in top shape.”
The Rockets enjoyed a winning season, finishing fourth in the NCDC Atlantic Division. Overall, Rothman’s first junior season was a success.
“My first overall season in the NCDC with the Rockets went extremely well as I grew exponentially as a player and person,” he said. “Every game this year was immensely competitive, making the level of play in the NCDC really high quality.”
He added that the physicality of the NCDC also prepared him for a future in NCAA hockey. He will continue to craft his game during this off-season.
“The NCDC has shown me the level of physicality that is present at the NCAA level which is something I will continue to improve upon, alongside my ability to produce offense which will continue to help me as my career moves forward,” Rothman added.
