The South Shore Kings have once again set the standard in the NCDC, capturing the 2025-26 Founders Cup as the league’s regular-season points percentage leader for the second consecutive year.

Finishing the season with an impressive 44-7-1-2 record and a .843 points percentage, the Kings proved that last year’s championship run was no fluke. With 220 goals scored and just 108 goals allowed, South Shore dominated on both ends of the ice, showcasing the consistency and structure that has become a hallmark of the program.

The Founders Cup, awarded annually to the NCDC team with the highest winning percentage in the regular season, highlights sustained excellence, something Head Coach Tyler Holske’s group has now achieved in back-to-back campaigns.

“It’s a great accomplishment. I’m very proud of this group,” said Holske. “It’s such a long season. The leadership group did a fantastic job early in the season of welcoming the new players to the team and getting them up to speed with our culture. The commitment level from every player on the team has been top notch. The guys show up every day ready to work. Everyone has the same mindset.”

Consistency has been a defining trait for the Kings, who have remained one of the league’s most complete teams from opening night through the final buzzer of the regular season.

“It’s really hard to be consistent. Being consistent with your daily approach is so important, it’s what drives success,” Holske added. “We have a pretty good routine that we stick to here. Our schedule is demanding. Our players arrive every morning around 9:30 a.m. We start each day with a team meeting and film session, followed by on-ice, position-specific skill work, then right into team practice. After that, it’s strength and conditioning with Edge Performance Systems. Owen Campbell and his staff are the best in the business. We also spend a lot of time working individually with players, whether it’s reviewing shifts or discussing the college process.”

“Our support staff plays a huge role as well. Clay Adams does a fantastic job preparing our goaltenders, and we have a terrific group behind the scenes, Dave, Sheri, Dane, Linc, Alex, Jefferson, Justin, Tom, Colin and George, who do so much for this organization.”

While the Founders Cup recognizes regular-season dominance, the Kings’ focus now shifts to the postseason and the pursuit of the Dineen Cup.

“We’ve spent a lot of time the last few days talking to our players about how hard it is to win this time of year,” said Holske. “Every team is good, and teams are desperate to win. Having the opportunity to play meaningful games right now is an unbelievable experience for our players. For us, it’s about playing a winning brand of hockey and sticking to our plan. We’re really excited to get the postseason going.”

With back-to-back Founders Cup titles secured, South Shore enters the playoffs once again as the team to beat, but as they’ve shown all season long, their standard isn’t just winning games, it’s sustaining excellence.
