2024–25 Postseason: Lost 2-1 to Idaho Falls Spud Kings in the Mountain Division Semifinals Game 5
After falling short in the Mountain Division semifinals last season to the eventual Dineen Cup champions, it can only go up from here for the Pueblo Bulls as they look to bounce back stronger than ever with a bit of a newer roster.
With a deeper roster and a renewed focus, the Bulls are ready to rise to the challenge of competing in the tough Mountain Division.
“Heading into the 25-26 season, I am very excited about the size and speed that our players have,” said head coach Chris Wilhite. “We have created a bigger roster than what we played with last season and they are very good skaters. To be competitive in the Mountain Division, your team has to be willing to play the hard style game and sustain it all season long. You have to have the depth of players that can compete in hard/loud atmospheres and the focus has to be to continue to get better everyday as the season goes along.”
Competing in one of the toughest divisions in the league is always a challenge, but coach Wilhite is emphasizing growth and making the team tough to play against every single night.
“We are a younger team to start the season, we have put an emphasis on the level of compete every single rep and to continue that throughout the entire practice,” said Wilhite. “Our division is very tough to play in so you have to have the will to compete for an entire game and not let up. The mountain division is the toughest division in the NCDC and we want to be the hardest team to play against in the division.”
After a summer of hard work and preparation, the Bulls are eager to deliver a competitive battle every game to their fans who show their dedication to the team every game.
“I am excited for the team that we are building and I know our fans will be proud of this team for representing this city,” said Wilhite. “Our fans should expect a team that competes hard every shift and with the depth that we have, any line can score at any point. Our players are big and fast and they should expect to see that style of play every night. Pueblo has the best and loudest fans in junior hockey and I am very excited for these fans to see what the hard work of summer has brought to the city of Pueblo.”
It should be a fun year ahead for the Bulls, who are aiming to build on last season’s success and take it to the next level.
