The Hudson Knights are set to begin a new era in the USPHL Premier for the 2026-27 season, bringing a recent championship pedigree and ambitious goals to their new home in Hudson, Quebec.

The organization relocated following two successful seasons in Hawkesbury, but according to Head Coach and General Manager Shawn Anderson, the move was driven by an opportunity to strengthen the player experience and unite the organization’s operations under one roof.

“We had an amazing two years in Hawkesbury, but the opportunity to put our two teams under one roof made a lot of sense,” said Anderson. “We are now called the Hudson Knights but will share the St. Lazare facility with the Avalanche. This facility has everything under one roof, allowing our players to do all the on-ice and off-ice training in one location.”

The organization is already familiar with the hockey culture in the area through its connection with the St. Lazare Avalanche. During visits last season, the team experienced firsthand the enthusiasm of local fans.

“Last year when we visited the Avalanche, the crowd was over 350 people and the people of St. Lazare loved what they saw,” Anderson said.

The response from community leaders has been equally encouraging as the Knights establish themselves in their new home.

“The local mayor welcomed us with open arms because of what we achieved with the Avalanche last season and how phenomenal the community support was,” Anderson said. “The area supporting the Hudson Knights will be five different surrounding towns, all just minutes away from the arena.”

Building strong community connections is a priority for the organization from day one. Anderson believes junior hockey can play a significant role in inspiring the next generation of players.

“Having junior teams in the community gives young hockey players a chance to see what is available to them in the future,” said Anderson. “The attendance for our games will have half of its crowd under the age of 17.”

On the ice, expectations remain high despite the change in address. The Knights enter the season following a division championship and a trip to the USPHL National Championships.

“We are relocating, and our goals won’t change,” Anderson said. “We are coming off a division championship and a trip to Nationals, which will be difficult to repeat, but that is our goal.”

With a proven track record of success, a new home, and strong community support already in place, the Hudson Knights are eager to begin their inaugural season and continue building on the momentum established over the past two years.
