Canadian Hockey Teams Will Be Back In Lewiston’s Colisee For The First Time Since 2011

Nashua, N.H. – The United States Premier Hockey League (“USPHL”) is pleased to announce the addition of the Lewiston MAINEiacs to the National Collegiate Development Conference (“NCDC”) for the 2025-26 season. The MAINEiacs’ home arena will be The Colisee, an historic arena located in Lewiston, Maine. They will compete in the North Division within the New England Conference. The addition of the MAINEiacs will provide a track to college hockey for players from Maine and beyond in what has historically been a strong junior hockey market.
MAINEiacs Owner Nate Bostic, a former junior hockey player himself, is excited about joining the NCDC, which has seen more than 210 NCAA college commitments this season, and counting. The MAINEiacs are resurrecting the name of the former Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (“QMJHL”) team which operated at the 4,000-seat Colisee from 2003 through 2011.
“We are looking forward to building upon the legacy of high-level junior hockey in Lewiston. This community has a well-established hockey culture dating back to the 1930s, and the fan base has always been supportive of their home team,” said Bostic.
The addition of the MAINEiacs brings the number of NCDC teams competing in the 2025-26 season to 32, with the majority competing in the New England Conference. The New England Conference will consist of three distinct divisions for ease of travel, which will allow for more time for development towards hockey players’ individual college and Tier I goals.
“We have been hard at work getting everything ready for the 2025-26 season,” Bostic added. “For the past two years, our team had been operating in the lower level Tier 3 Eastern Hockey League, so our entire team looks at this as taking the next, higher step in the hockey world. Over the next two weeks, the MAINEiacs will be announcing their coaching staff and game schedule. In addition, we will be unveiling our new team logo jerseys.”
“Welcoming Lewiston as the 32nd NCDC member is a tremendously exciting step as we build our North Division,” said Kevin Abrams, the NCDC’s Director of Operations. “Having the MAINEiacs join our other teams in Maine, New Brunswick and Quebec marks the return of cross-border junior hockey to the region and positions the NCDC and USPHL uniquely well for even greater opportunities in the future.”
