The National Collegiate Development Conference congratulates the Pueblo Bulls’ Siamion Marshchanok on being named the Mountain Division Rookie Of The Year and Forward Of The Year, as voted in by the division’s coaches.
“Honestly it’s a lovely feeling to see and hear that. I know how hard everyone is working, every player trying to show their best on the ice, and being named the Mountain Division Rookie and Forward Of The Year is really great,” said Marshchanok, a 2005-born native of Minsk, Belarus. “I still need to work on a lot of things to be better and I appreciate everyone who helped me to reach that goal!”
Siamion Marshchanok was also voted in last year by fans as the 2023-24 USPHL Premier MVP while with the Potomac Patriots. His twin brother Matsvei Marshchanok was with him on the Patriots and again on the Bulls roster this year. Siamion was the leading scorer in the NCDC, with 28 goals and 47 assists for 75 points in 51 games. Matsvei finished in a tie for second in the league with 69 points.
“The opportunity which the Pueblo Bulls gave me is a good experience and a chance to prove my hockey skills and talent,” said Siamion. “It’s a great moment to play in NCDC league and try to move up from that league.”
In 2023-24, Marshchanok led his team with 112 points, becoming one of just 23 all-time players to hit 100 or more points in the USPHL Premier since its 2017-18 inception.
“The most successful thing was hard work and to trust the process,” said Siamion. “I was named MVP of the USPHL Premier by the fans last year and i think it’s giving me more belief and energy from the people who gave their voice for me to play better, and I’m glad to prove it on the ice and let everyone see that wasn’t a mistake or by chance.”
He made his NCDC debut at the 2024 Frozen Futures Showcase in Idaho Falls in October, and began scoring right off the bat. Five games into his NCDC career, he had eight points already. He was grateful for the opportunity to show that skills sharpened in the USPHL Premier can help lead to success in the NCDC – USPHL Advancement in action!
“The NCDC league is a good opportunity to play on the highest level and every league has their own ways to move up, and everyone can reach their goals and play in the NHL, each player giving his best to play on the highest level,” added Siamion. “I think players who want to play in college hockey or in the pro leagues, they should give more and more every day to prove themselves first to show they deserve to play on the higher level. Everyone has their own ways and you need to find that way to make it work.”
The Pueblo Bulls, who tendered the Marshchanok twins the prior season, certainly gave Siamion and his brother the tools to excel and the took those and ran with them all the way through the year.
“The Pueblo Bulls are a great team and organization. They did absolutely everything for me to reach my goal and be named Rookie Of The Year and Forward Of The Year,” added Siamion. “I think the most important thing about those awards is it’s a good communication and trust from my coaches and teammates’ side. If not for their help, I would not get that.
“I think the coaches, staff, teammates and fans did an absolutely incredible job in this season. Everyone tried to give some perspective and success for the team. It was not just me who helped us to some big wins for the team because it is a team. Every player giving effort to get big and important wins for the whole team. I was just a part of those big wins.”
