Patrick Lindbohm’s first season of North American hockey worked out very well – so well, in fact that he’s going to be coming back stateside. The 2005-born native of Helsinki, Finland, has committed to play NCAA hockey for New England College in Henniker, N.H. His first year of hockey in this country came with the Lake Tahoe Lakers.
“I first started talking to New England College last Christmas. They really like my hockey sense, work ethic, and the competitive mindset I bring to both ends of the ice,” said Lindbohm. “I really like New England College — the facilities are top-notch and the overall environment is very motivating. They also have great teachers and strong academic support.”
He joined the Lakers and lived up to his brand as a physical and two-way defenseman (per his EliteProspects.com) profile, scoring 11 goals and 27 points in 37 games and sitting for 101 penalty minutes in the regular season. He felt that playing the season with the Lakers gave him great preparation for the speed and physicality that he’ll eventually see in college.
“Playing for the Lakers was a huge step forward in my development. I had the opportunity to play a lot. The coaching staff and facilities were perfect for a young player looking to grow,” said Lindbohm. “The USPHL Premier is a great league that gives you every opportunity to become the best player you want to be — it’s all up to how much you’re willing to put in.”
He’s willing to put everything in that he needs to become the player that the NEC Pilgrims want him to be from Day 1.
“There’s always something to improve, and that process never stops,” he said. “I train twice a day and am focusing on building my body and strength for the upcoming season.”
The USPHL congratulates Patrick Lindbohm, his family, the Lake Tahoe Lakers and New England College for his commitment.
