A Respected Voice, an Accomplished Professional, and a True USPHL Ambassador Moves on to the Collegiate Ranks
The Florida Eels proudly recognize and celebrate the remarkable eight-year tenure of longtime broadcaster Nick Roesch, who is departing the organization to begin an exciting new chapter in the collegiate athletics arena. This moment is both bittersweet and meaningful, as Nick has been an integral part of the Eels family and a defining voice of the program for nearly a decade.
Roesch has served as the Eels’ lead broadcaster for eight full seasons, calling every home game and countless marquee matchups across the United States. His work extended far beyond the regular season, serving as the play-by-play voice for the Eels’ division and conference playoff runs, as well as numerous USPHL National Championship Games. Nick’s steady presence, professionalism, and unmistakable passion have made him one of the most respected broadcasters in the league.
Throughout his tenure, Roesch earned multiple USPHL awards and accolades, consistently recognized for his exceptional performance behind the microphone. He was a key storyteller during some of the most memorable moments in Florida Eels history — including the COVID-era Nationals, the unique and challenging Florida Bubble, and the rise of more than 300 Eels alumni who advanced to college hockey during his time with the organization.
In addition to his contributions to the Eels, Nick’s resume includes play-by-play roles across minor league hockey and baseball, including the ECHL, ACHA, and affiliated professional baseball circuits. He also served as the voice of FGCU’s ACHA Division 2 National Championship team, further demonstrating his versatility and talent in the broadcast booth.
USPHL leadership, coaches, and staff frequently turned to Nick for the league’s biggest stages from national events to all-star showcases and he delivered each time with poise, preparation, and an unmistakable enthusiasm for the sport. His work has made a lasting impact on the league, its players, and its audiences.
“Nick Roesch has been a true ambassador for the USPHL,” said the Florida Eels organization. “His professionalism, storytelling, and dedication have elevated not only our program, but the league as a whole. He is an example of the developmental model the USPHL prides itself on — helping young professionals grow, advance, and succeed. We are grateful for his years of service and excited to see him excel at the next level.”
While the Eels and their fans will miss Nick’s familiar voice, the organization celebrates his well-earned opportunity in the collegiate arena and looks forward to cheering him on as he continues his broadcasting career.
“The Florida Eels extend their deepest thanks and best wishes to Nick, a true professional, a valued member of our family, and a lasting part of our history,” said Eels Owner Frank Scarpaci.
