USPHLPremierUSPHL Announces Addition of Salt Lake Ghost Riders to West Division

Welcome Ghost Riders

The United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) has announced the addition of the Salt Lake Ghost Riders, a new franchise set to begin play in the West Division. The team will be based out of Acord Ice Center.

Owned and operated by Center Ice Group, the Ghost Riders organization emphasizes a development-first model, providing student-athletes with a structured pathway for advancement within the USPHL and beyond. The program will maintain an affiliation with the Ventura Vikings of the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC), creating opportunities for players to compete in up to 10 Tier II games during the season.

“This is an exciting step for our organization and the Salt Lake market,” said Mike Lopez, President of Center Ice Group. “We are committed to building a high-level development program with a clear path to the next level.”

The Ghost Riders will be led by Head Coach Jake Tomalak, who will guide the team’s on-ice development and competitive approach in its inaugural season.

“We’re focused on creating a competitive, development-first culture,” said Adam Bonaldi, SVP of Hockey Operations for Center Ice Group. “Our goal is to provide players with the tools and opportunities they need to advance while building a strong foundation in Salt Lake.”

Additional details regarding team operations, player recruitment, and tryouts will be announced in the coming months.
