The National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) and the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) are proud to announce that the Chicago franchise will compete as the Chicago Union as part of its elevation to the NCDC beginning in the 2026-27 season.

The transition to the NCDC marks a significant step forward for the organization, aligning Chicago with the highest level of junior hockey within the USPHL’s development model. The Union identity reflects a commitment to the core values of discipline, brotherhood, and sacrifice principles that will define the program at the Tier II level.

Chicago’s move into the NCDC represents an important step forward for the organization. With a foundation already established at the Premier level, the transition positions the Union to compete at the highest standard of junior hockey while continuing to advance players to NCAA programs and beyond.

“The name Union carries weight. It stands for discipline, brotherhood, and sacrifice — and that’s exactly what this program will be built on,” said Chicago Union General Manager Pete Olson. “This is not for everyone. This is for competitors who are willing to be held accountable, push beyond their limits, and earn everything they get. We’re building something in Chicago that reflects the identity of this city; tough, united, and driven.”

With the elevation, the Chicago Union will begin building its NCDC roster immediately while establishing a culture centered on performance, development, and advancement. The organization will carry forward its commitment to player growth while embracing the increased competition and exposure that comes with competing in the NCDC.

The Chicago Union will take the ice in the 2026-27 season as part of the NCDC, playing out of the Great Lakes Division within the Midwest Conference.

Chicago will be holding it’s Main Camp at Summit Ice Center in Lockport, IL  from July 30th to August 2nd.  For more info click here.
