The National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) is proud to announce that South Shore Kings captain Jake Kavanagh has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at Norwich University, where he will play both hockey and golf.
A native of Montreal, Quebec, Kavanagh leaves the South Shore Kings as one of the most accomplished players in franchise history. Over three seasons in the NCDC, he helped lead the Kings to three consecutive Dineen Cup Finals appearances and played a major role in NCDC championships in 2024 and 2026, as well as Founders Cup regular-season titles in 2025 and 2026.
Kavanagh finishes his Kings career as the organization’s all-time leader in games played (157), goals (59) and points (154). During his three seasons, South Shore compiled 124 regular-season victories and 29 playoff wins, while Kavanagh recorded 33 points in 37 career postseason games. He was also named to the 2026 NCDC Dineen Cup Finals All-Tournament Team after helping lead the Kings to their second championship in three years.
Reflecting on his time in Foxboro, Kavanagh credited the organization for providing an experience he will remember for the rest of his life.
“The past three seasons with the Kings are years I will remember for the rest of my life,” said Kavanagh. “From the success we’ve achieved to the memories and lifelong friendships I’ve made, these experiences are something I will always cherish.”
South Shore Kings General Manager and Head Coach Tyler Holske said Kavanagh’s impact on the organization extended far beyond the scoresheet.
“Jake was an impact player in all three seasons for us and an unbelievable leader,” said Holske. “He played a major role in our championships and consistently delivered in big moments. Norwich University is getting an elite human being.”
At Norwich University, Kavanagh will continue his academic and athletic career at one of Division III’s premier institutions while adding another chapter to a junior career defined by leadership, championship success and consistency.
The NCDC congratulates Jake and his family on this outstanding accomplishment and wishes him continued success at Norwich University.
