NCDC Opening Weekend Preview: Sept. 25-27, 2026
The 2026-27 NCDC season begins this weekend with 58 games scheduled across the league. Here is a division-by-division look at who each team will face during opening weekend.
Atlantic Division
The Connecticut Junior Rangers face the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights and Mercer Chiefs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton also plays the West Chester Wolves and Utica Jr. Comets, while West Chester opens against Rockets Hockey Club.
The Rockets finish their weekend against Mercer. The Jersey Hitmen face Mercer and the P.A.L. Junior Islanders, while P.A.L. opens its season Saturday against the Hitmen.
Colonial Division
The Connecticut Chiefs face the New York Dynamo and Boston Jr. Rangers. New York also plays the Springfield Pics, who have games against the Worcester Railers JHC and Connecticut RoughRiders.
Red Bank and Vermont Universal meet twice. The Utica Jr. Comets play two games against the defending Dineen Cup champion South Shore Kings before facing Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday. The Syracuse Lightning play a two-game set against the Montreal Black Vees.
Metropolitan Division
The Boston Jr. Rangers face Islanders Hockey Club and the Connecticut Chiefs. The Boston Jr. Terriers play the Northern Cyclones and Boston Jr. Bruins, while the Bruins also face the New England Wolves and Worcester Railers JHC.
New England plays the Bruins, Thunder Hockey Club and Northern Cyclones. The South Shore Kings begin their title defense with two home games against Utica, while Worcester faces Springfield and the Bruins.
Midwest Division
Chicago Union and the Metro Jets meet twice during opening weekend. The Fort Wayne Spacemen and Toledo Cherokee play a home-and-home series Saturday and Sunday, while the Red River Spartans face the Charlotte Rush twice.
Northwest Express plays the Minnesota Blue Ox and Minnesota Squatch. The Squatch also face the Hudson Havoc, while Hudson finishes its weekend against the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings.
Northeast Division
The Montreal Black Vees play two games against the Syracuse Lightning. The Northern Maine Pioneers face the Woodstock Warriors before playing Quebec Universal twice.
Quebec also opens against the St. Stephen County Moose, who face the Perth-Andover Bearcats on Saturday. Thunder Hockey Club plays the Lewiston MAINEiacs and New England Wolves.
South Division
The Florida Eels face the Coral Springs Jr. Cats and Florida Junior Blades. Coral Springs also plays the Florida Surge, while the Junior Blades and Surge meet Friday.
The Charlotte Rush and Red River Spartans play twice. Potomac and Carolina meet Saturday and Sunday, as do Charleston and Yorktown. Typhoon Hockey Club and the Tampa Bay Juniors complete their opening weekend with two games against one another.
West Division
Ontario Jr. Reign and the Fresno Monsters play a two-game series Friday and Saturday. The Park City Outliers face the McCall Smokejumpers twice, while the Vernal Oilers and Casper Warbirds also meet twice during opening weekend.
