USPHL • NCAA Division III • West Chester Wolves To Face Lebanon Valley College In Historic Exhibition
The West Chester Wolves will take on NCAA Division III Lebanon Valley College in an exhibition game Saturday, Oct. 17, at Hersheypark Arena in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
According to the West Chester Wolves, the matchup will mark the first recorded game between an NCAA Division III hockey team and a Tier II junior hockey team, providing a unique opportunity to showcase the Wolves’ program and the NCDC.
Lebanon Valley, located in Annville, Pennsylvania, competes in the Middle Atlantic Conference and plays its home games at Hersheypark Arena.
“This is a great opportunity for our program and players to showcase themselves on a large stage with a lot of eyes on them,” said Wolves NCDC Head Coach and General Manager R.C. Lyke. “We want to make sure we represent our program, the Atlantic Division, and our NCDC league as a whole well most importantly.”
The visit will extend beyond the game. West Chester’s players will tour Lebanon Valley’s campus, share a team meal with the Flying Dutchmen and meet with the college’s coaching staff for a locker room tour and question-and-answer session about NCAA Division III hockey.
The experience will provide players with a closer look at college life and the opportunities available as they work toward advancing from junior hockey to the collegiate level.
“This is an extremely unique opportunity for our players and program and we are very excited and grateful for the chance to play an NCAA Division 3 hockey team,” Lyke said. “I would like to thank Lebanon Valley Head Coach Don Parsons, for setting this game up and providing this opportunity to our program and players.”
Hersheypark Arena is located at 100 W. Hersheypark Drive, Hershey, PA 17033.
