Tage Thompson

Tage Thompson first joined the USPHL in 2013-14, playing for the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders in the USPHL 16U Division (now the Tier 1 Hockey Federation 16U Division). In 16 games that year, he scored 17 goals and added 31 assists. The next year found him in the USHL playing for the U.S. National Team Development Program.

He was still 17 years old when he began his first season at the University of Connecticut. He remained there for two seasons. The St. Louis Blues drafted him in the first round (26th overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. After one more season at UConn, he signed pro and began his pro career in the AHL with the Chicago Wolves. He also won a Gold Medal in the 2017 World Junior Championships.

He played for the St. Louis Blues in 2016-17, and then joined the Buffalo Sabres, with whom he has played all of his NHL games since 2017. In 407 regular season NHL games, he has scored 173 goals and 143 assists for 316 points through 2024-25.
